Abstract

Earthquakes and other disasters such as floods, fires, landslides, avalanches cause great destruction, injuries and losses. Therefore, the disasters experienced have individual and social effects. The sudden occurrence of disasters arouses feelings of fear and helplessness and causes destruction. For this reason, disasters are accepted as a traumatic event. As a result of the research, it was determined that the participants' posttraumatic growth levels predicted their psychological flexibility significantly and positively. In addition, it was concluded that psychological resilience significantly and negatively predicted posttraumatic stress symptoms. It was concluded that psychological resilience has a full mediating role in the relationship between posttraumatic growth and posttraumatic stress symptoms.
