Evaluation Of Research On The 'Turkish World' In The Context Of Intercultural Communicatıon and Communication Sociology

In this article, in the context of intercultural communication and communication sociology, publications containing the phrase "Turkish World" in the Social Science Citation Index SSCI in the Web of Science WOS database were examined, since there is no comprehensive research on this subject in the literature. A total of 1249 publications were reached, with the oldest publication date reaching 1 January 1980 and the newest publication date 13 January 2023. Publications containing the phrase 'Turkish World' are listed in 10 categories: publication years, types, languages, authors, journals, most cited fields, citation categories, most published publishers, least published subjects, most cited authors. has been examined.
According to our results, among the research fields with the least publications, sociology, philosophy and art in social sciences; In health sciences, these are sexually transmitted infections, thyroid, orthopedics, birth defects, medical history and genetics. While the number of studies conducted in multidisciplinary fields is relatively high; The number of studies conducted in the fields of sociology, philosophy and art is quite low. In addition, our results show that studies on relations with the Balkans, intercultural communication, sociology, philosophy and art are quite limited in Turkish World research.
